From 24 to 30 April, is the European immunization week under the slogan «the Vikings are»
In 2005, the European regional office of the world health organization in Europe was first proposed to hold the European Immunization Week (EIW).
This highlighted the importance of vaccination to health and quality of life of every person and the extreme urgency of timely immunization. Company 2017 is April 24-30, and the main task of the week is to inform the population about the benefits of vaccination. As noted, immunization is one of the most efficient and cost-effective measures of disease prevention available at the present time. With stable and high vaccination coverage of the population the incidence is falling, and the disease can even be completely eliminated. Thus, in Belarus in recent years, recorded isolated cases of diphtheria and tetanus, low levels of mumps, measles and rubella. Smallpox, which killed annually 5 million people worldwide have been completely eliminated in 1978.
Let me remind you, in 2002, Belarus was certified by who as a country free from polio — the disease that lead to disability to thousands of children. Quite rare were the cases of measles, rubella, infrequent visitor was apparatet that make boys infertile, fell to a handful of cases, the incidence of acute forms of viral hepatitis, which threatens to cirrhosis and liver cancer, and have not been vaccinated against TB infection in tens times increases the risk of tuberculosis.
And just too biased and stubborn person can deny these obvious facts! To date, according to the National calendar of preventive vaccinations in the Republic of Belarus carried out a planned immunization against hepatitis b, tuberculosis, polio, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, measles, rubella, mumps, pneumococcal and Haemophilus infections, and the flu.
In the Republic there are vaccines that protect from other infections: varicella, against rotavirus infection from human papilloma virus which causes cervical cancer. Provided vaccination on epidemic indications (rabies, anthrax, tick-borne encephalitis, viral hepatitis a, tularemia, plague, cholera, leptospirosis, yellow fever, fever, typhoid.)
In our country established and functioning system of state supervision including quality control of vaccines storage and transportation. The state shall guarantee accessibility for citizens preventive vaccinations, free vaccinations included in the national calendar and on epidemic indications in public health.
I appeal to the people of our district with a request responsible attitude to vaccination.
I appeal to the residents of the district who refuse vaccinations for themselves and their children. Think about whether or not to do? No wonder that the whole civilized world spends huge funds that would immunize people to protect them from terrible diseases.
